Charlotte Walsh is a painter and illustrator based in Chicago whose oil paintings blur the line between reality and imagination. Originally a college athlete, she discovered her creative calling through drawing and design courses at St. Norbert College and later refined her craft at Palette & Chisel Fine Art Academy.
Each of Charlotte’s pieces tells its own story — a world inhabited by distinct characters, emotions, and symbols. Her subjects often emerge from moments of transformation and wonder, inviting viewers to step into scenes that feel both familiar and fantastical. Through her use of movement, texture, and light, she seeks to capture the quiet magic that exists within everyday life and the unseen stories that surround us.
“My work explores the dreamlike space between the real and the imagined,” she says. “Each painting holds a unique meaning — a glimpse into a world where emotion and imagination meet.”

I paint using oil based paints. My digital work is mixed media using sketches from my ink/watercolor drawings and applying filters using Adobe Photoshop. Now my art is more focused on art painting.

“My subject matter centers on otherworldly places,”Charlotte explains. “I take simple objects or people and reimagine them in a world filled with movement and imagination. My work might appear in nature or in a fantasy realm—my goal is to inspire others to dream and create their own unique worlds.”
